Overall:
The lodge is located about 20mins drive from the town of Golden, BC. The lodge is surrounded by mountains, trees and a river. It was a September long weekend and we stayed in #6 room for one night. The room is right above the reception and has two beds (queen sized) and one full bathroom, no deck or balcony.
Pros:
Free wifi
Nice big (queen size), comfortable bed and beddings, pillows are at the right hardness
There are also a big sofa and a nice lamp
Very quite place, sits right besides a river and inside forests
Rooms are pretty clean, no shoes are allowed inside the lodge
If you stay in the cabin, you have your own kitchen, patio, and even BBQ (I'm not sure it is charged, since no meals are included in the rate we pay for), more suitable for families
Breakfast is $15/person, you should let them know the night before if you want to have breakfast. The breakfast is amazing, they have toast with fruit jam, fresh fruits with yogurt, meatballs, spinach, onion, and mushroom with eggs on top, pancake, orange juice, cranberry juices, everything is homemade. We sit on the balcony, with nice mountain views and the sound of running river, i just want to stay there for one more night!
Cons:
we live above reception, dining room, and kitchen, you can hear everyone outside, noisy.
Washroom has no fan, big wide screen tv has no remote control
Satellite signal is not very strong
Can't lock your room door from outside, so you have to leave it unlocked while you are gone, which might create some security issues.
